Curriculum Based on Sanathana Dharma

Ancient India could boast of a high level of education and an unprecedented educational tradition. In addition to primary schools such as Gurukulas that imparted Para Vidya and Apara Vidya, there were systematized formal education centers such as Shalas (Sabha Mutts) and Sarvakalashalas (Universities).

Indian Education

The basis of Indian education is the divine science of Sanathana Dharma. The whole content of this Maha Vidya (great knowledge) bestowed by Sree Parameshwara through the Aarsha Guru Paramparas are proven lessons that enable any individual to achieve their life goals. Sanathana Dharma is that which gives us Abhyudayam (Preyas or worldly success) and Nissreyas (Shreyas or spiritual success).

The Rishis have said that the main benefits of Sanathana Dharma itself are the main goals of education. That is, the benefits of this humanistic philosophy:

  1. Swasthyam (well-being, complete life span, complete health, healing, peace, harmony, security)
  2. Samagra Vyakti Vikasam / holistic personality development (physical, mental, intellectual, spiritual, social, leading to human evolution.)
  3. Sampoorna Jeevana Vijayam / complete success in life (attainment of Purusharthas)
  4. Sreshtha Samaja Nirmanam (building a noble society)
  5. Sarva Dukha Pariharam (Liberation from all sorrows)

These are the main goals of education.
